WTF events is in the business of creating memories by producing life experiences one day at a time including conventions. Being fans our selves, we understand that there is an importance to the props and or weapons that you might bring with to make your costumes complete and covered with awesomeness!
That being said, we are also highly invested in the safety of everyone that attends our events, (we need the money) so the following policies have been deeply argued between senior staff members while demonstrating both safe and unsafe weapons, props and or accessories in a type of Battle Dome arena.
By the way we are looking for a new admin person, the last one was accidentally impelled by a Game of thrones type sword which was a little too real. Sorry about that.
On this day forward we have set forth the below guidelines for Weapons, Props, and or accessories at any WTF Event's programs. Which has been created so that everyone can both marvel and feel at ease while attending any of our conventions. Cosplay is always highly encouraged
1 All weapons and props must follow state and federal laws and guidelines
2 All weapons and props must be NON-functioning, they can look the part, but they cannot actually do the part they are meant to represent.
3 All weapons and props MUST be checked by security personnel, who will then give a sticker to each prop, signifying that they are okay for entrance onto the convention area.
4 If you have a gun, it cannot be able to shoot anyone, if you have a sword or knife, it cannot be able to be drawn while at the convention area.
5 Just because a prop or weapon was used to beat the bad/good guy, does not mean you need to use it in a similar fashion on ANYONE. Please make sure that your props are only for show, not violence.
6 If a duel has been entered into for the honor of the clan/manhood or womanhood/or a dumb bet, please take such squabbles away from the convention. Or if they must be settled at the convention, please find the gaming room and battle to the (virtual) death at our gaming consoles.
7 If you are ever in doubt of what you should do in a situation when it comes to a weapon or prop, it is ALWAYS a good idea to ask security or staff before doing it.
8 Remember the convention is for everyone, so treat everyone with respect, ask permission before doing anything questionable, and as always, have fun!
9 last but not least if you are still reading this and still have any questions please Refer back to 1 thru 8 and repeat
